Forever Memory Boxes

Forever Memory Boxes… because YOUR history matters…

Special treasures are often passed on to us loosely, one at a time, or sometimes they arrive in a jumble. The dainty gold baby ring… the lace hanky… a child’s first baby tooth… the worn penknife… the monogrammed bookmark. These are the treasured keepsakes to be saved in a Forever Memory Box.

Boxes measure 8″ x 5″ x 2 1/4″ or 10″ x 7 1/2″ x 2 1/4″, perfectly sized for precious keepsakes. Each book-style box is carefully finished in leather, and hand-embossed pewter or copper. A wide variety of colors and styles are available. The interior of the box is finished in soft felt, and the box has a magnetic closure. No two boxes are the same, as each one is individually designed, the result of a collaboration with the purchaser. After an initial conversation, I will provide you with sketches for approval. Prices start at $65 plus taxes and shipping.

What is Repujado?

I use Repujado to create my Memory Boxes. Repujado, or metal embossing, is an art form that has been around for centuries. I craft all of my Repujado works by hand. A variety of tools allow me to create texture, volume and embellishment to pewter, copper, silver, aluminum, brass and tin. The flat metal sheeting is first pushed from the back, creating raised designs. The front of the metal is then refined and the raised areas are defined at the edges. Once the embossing is completed, I can then polish, patina, or paint it with alcohol inks. My Forever Memory Boxes can also include photos, or my handmade fused glass cabochons. Something special for any occasion!

A Memory Box Story… “I Remember Ma”

A daughter spoke of her mother with such love and compassion as she described her life and accomplishments. “Ma” was a farmer’s daughter, and then a farmer’s wife. She loved to bake, sew, quilt and knit. Ma had eight children, and she loved each one with all of her heart. Later in life, she went on to earn a college degree. Ma’s life and endeavors are heralded in a quilt-style design on the pewter lid of her Forever Memory Box.
